About me
I'm Emma Clarke, I have a Masters' degree from Leeds Conservatoire in music composition. I'm one of the Britten Sinfonia's Opus 1 composers for 2022/23, and I'm a PhD student at the Royal Northern College of Music.
I started writing music in September 2020 when I asked myself what kind of music I'd write if I ever gave it a go. I write for lots of different instruments and ensembles. I particularly love orchestration. I write music for choreography and I have a special interest in scoring music for silent film and animation. I live in Manchester, England with my family and crazy dog. In my other life, I'm an award-winning voiceover and writer. You'll have heard me on radio, TV, on games, apps, public transport systems, inside talking toys, in shopping centres and while you're on hold on the phone. I also play the part of the Starship Avalon in the Hollywood blockbuster movie 'Passengers.'
